Children's Museum

In the basement
area of the museum building is situated the Educational Children's
Museum at 60 sq. m. Inaugurated in 1985 it is the
only one of that kind in Bulgaria. For the schoolchildren from
1st to 8th grade replicas of a prehistoric home, a Slavonic
dug-out and a Proto-Bulgarian jurta house have been worked out
together with the basic utensils usually found in them – vessels,
tools, weapons, beds and others. Besides this, the visitors
can get acquainted and take part in the reconstruction of many
ancient trades – pottery making, fire kindling, drilling of
bone, stone and wood, flour milling, weaving of rush-mats and
others.
Museum specialists organize thematic lectures
with picture tests in the main exhibition, as well. |
